This is a personal blog about life in the Martinsville-Henry County area of southern Virginia. It’s a great place to live and it doesn’t get enough press so we decided to remedy that by giving people a glimpse into what we see every day, plus some of the neat things that are close to us that help make it even more fun.
My husband and I moved from McKinney, Texas, to the Horsepasture area of Henry County in 2014. The intention was to flip a house here and then move to Roanoke. In the process, we fell in love with Henry County and decided to stay, moving my 70-year-old mother out from Maypearl, Texas, in 2016. We make frequent trips up to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Floyd, Roanoke, and Smith Mountain Lake, all within an hour of Henry County. You’ll see lots of walking trails and festivals here.
If you have a suggestion or a comment, please let me know. Please keep it positive. This is strictly a labor of love and for fun.
